Photobook Belge

For photographers, the photo book is one of the most important media to show their work. The evolution of the photo book therefore fits into a great tradition. Photobook Belge is the first ever overview of photo books published by Belgian photographers. The catalog includes more than 250 carefully described and illustrated photo books, made over a period of 150 years, from various public and private collections. For the first time, research is being conducted on this scale into the production and context of Belgian photo books. This ambitious book sketches a representative picture of their development, from the mid-nineteenth century to the present day, and contributes to the study of a hitherto neglected part of Belgian photo history.
