Book Carcass - Tim Dirven

In this book, World Press Photo Award winner Tim Dirven brings together 25 years of photography.
From Brussels to Mostar, Sar-e-Pol, Suusamyr, Damascus, Darfur, Kinshasa and Antananarivo. From black and white to color.

Carcass , he calls his life's work, because the architecture of humans and animals is central to it. And because it indicates an essence. Photography down to the bone. Dirven shows humanity searching for a precarious balance between culture, religion, politics and ecology.

In 1994 Tim Dirven started working as a freelance photographer. He makes daily reports for Belgian newspapers (De Morgen, De Tijd and l'Echo) and magazines (Knack and Wilfried).

Over the years he made reports all over the world. Tim's photos are sharp observations of everyday life. He mainly photographs with a focus on the invisible side of society that is not often shown. His photos tell intimate stories about ordinary people.

Since 2000, Tim Dirven has been part of the London agency Panos Pictures.
His photographs have been shown in many international exhibitions and museums.
