Description
This debut monograph by Belgian photographer Maroesjka Lavigne includes four series by the artist: Island, Not Seeing is a Flower, Land of Nothingness and Lost Lands. Each of these series took several years to complete, during which time the artist traveled extensively around the world - including to Argentina, Iceland, Japan and Namibia - to observe landscapes and their inhabitants. Lavigne's subjects range from stark landscapes to austere, haunting portraits and unforgettable animal photographs; she creates stunningly beautiful images that are tenderly attuned to their surroundings and subject.
