Description
After his death, the house of the painter Marten Melsen (1870-1947) was occupied by his unmarried daughters and son. The sisters continued to live there until well into their eighties. The photos of these authentic interiors offer a glimpse of a time that is not too far behind us, but is still over. Through her training as a painter, and aided by beautiful light, Karin Borghouts knows how to reveal this photogenic environment with a special and empathetic sensitivity.
