Description
Red Journey reveals the various ways in which former Soviet countries attempt to reshape their national identities after the collapse of the communist empire. Nick Hannes shows a region of contradictions, with extreme wealth amid heartbreaking poverty and unbridled urban renewal, which makes deprived neighborhoods all the more visible and displays new gilded cult images of dictators in a setting of bygone glory.
